The Things She Knows

She may not even be six months old yet, but there are things that Nora knows well.

She knows how to roll, both ways, and is starting to learn how to scooch herself off the blanket to something else more interesting -- like the paper shredder (which was unplugged, and now has been moved), a suitcase with especially fun straps, or the dog.

Studying for the SAT. She's very advanced.

She knows how to cling to me as I lay her in her crib, one last snuggle before rolling to one side and falling asleep.

She knows her mama and daddy. She squeals in delight when she is between us in the morning while we're watching TV before we decide it's time to really get up.

She knows how to babble and talk, and knows to giggle when we're having fun.

She knows how to fuss when she's getting bored in her Exersaucer, just enough to get Daddy do silly dances to make her smile.

She knows how to flap her arms in excitement. Some days I think she may just fly away.

She knows to hold on tight when she hears a loud noise (the vacuum cleaner or the blender, especially), which lately have been making her scared.

She knows that food is something very interesting and watches carefully as we eat (and reaches for it whenever she gets a chance).  She loooooves sweet potatoes (but isn't so sure about squash).
Did someone say sweet potatoes? I'm in.
