Womb with a View

Well, those ultrasound technicians finally did it. 

I had always heard that the first time you hear the baby's heartbeat, you'll cry.  The first time you see that little profile on the screen, you'll cry. The first time you feel a little kick, you'll cry. I did not.  I've never been a crier, and even though I'm a bit more emotional than normal (okay...sometimes a lot more emotional than normal, but I'm sticking to my story that I'm really not that bad), I hadn't spilled any happy tears at any of the doctor's appointments, ultrasounds, or the father/daughter dances at all the weddings we've attended this summer.  (That Pampers commercial that has been running lately is a different story.  Waterworks every time.)

But the first time I saw that tiny face and those little hands playing peek-a-boo with us in 3D, my eyes welled with tears and it was all over.  She's so sweet, and I've decided - and a few others agree - that she looks like Ryan.  I've been spoiled, and now I can't wait to really see her in person in just four months.
